Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

search engine optimisation (SEO) is the process of optimising websites for search engines. By doing this, the website will appear higher in the search results when the website’s optimised keywords are searched for.
Google is by far the most popular search engine in the world today. We therefore tailor our search engine optimisation to Google.
Google considers two factors when matching website to searched criteria :
• How credible a website is, measured in Page Rank.
• How well the Keyword is reinforced within a website.

Page Rank

Page Rank (PR) is obtained by a vouching system. A website vouches for another website when it links to it. The higher the rank of the vouching website, the more rank is passed. Thus to up your Page Rank, you want get as many links to your site as possible from as many high ranking websites as possible. This is an integral part of the search engine optimisation process.

Keywords

These are words that you wish to target in the search engines. Keywords need to be reinforced throughout the site. Keywords are reinforced using many factors
Ideally we want to determine a set of keywords for your website and target each keyword to a relevant page. We then reinforce this keyword on the selected page, and link the keyword to the selected page whenever it appears throughout the rest of the site.

Timeframe

Because of the sheer volume of the internet, Google only does a deep crawl (looking for new / updated websites) roughly once a month. This means that after changes are implemented it takes a while before the results start showing. Only once we have these results can we begin making the relevant changes and tweaks to help improve the search engine optimisation process.
search engine optimisation is therefore a long process, usually taking around 6 months to take full effect.
